A creative child, James S. Cole grew up in Buffalo New York drawing everything from smiling suns to cool cars. All that changed in 1981, when his Mother gave him a copy of "The Tourist's Guide to Transylvania".
Jim became enamored with the dark illustrations of Les Edwards and Terry Oakes. These and other illustrators Larry Elmore, Jeff Easley and Brom, have had a profound influence on Jim's work, which ranges from digital paintings to hand silkscreen prints.
Jim's work can be seen in role-playing game books, magazines, illustration annuals and yes, even greeting cards and convention displays. Jim has a fondness for art depicting zombies and fallen angels and the dichotomy between life and death.
Jim currently lives in a suburb of Dallas, TX with his new wife Kelly and their two hairless cats Malice and Alyster. In his spare time he enjoys biking, hiking, role playing games and watching Sabres hockey.
